Job summary

Williams-Sonoma DC in Olive Branch, MS, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support 24/7 operations. The role focuses on repairing and improving automation, MHE, and facility systems, using a CMMS work order system, and ensuring safe, efficient operations across the distribution center.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of maintenance experience, be able to operate forklifts, and hold or be willing to obtain WSI certification.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in material handling systems or facilities building maintenance.
  • Able to operate PIT powered industrial trucks including forklifts.
  • Willingness to work 24/7 including holidays.
  • Must be able to pass WSI certification.

Overview

Williams-Sonoma DC – Olive Branch, MS. Our Distribution Centers connect factories with retail, online, and mail-order customers. The Supply Chain environment is fast-paced and dynamic, offering opportunities for advancement for individuals with backgrounds in distribution, manufacturing, engineering, transportation, finance, human resources, or home delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Repair and improve automation, material handling equipment (MHE), building and infrastructure.
  • Use a CMMS (work order) system.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing via e-mail.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and safety-mindedness.
  • Problem solve, troubleshoot, and marshal resources to complete tasks.
  • Gather needed materials to complete repairs or work orders.
  • Accurately track and store spare parts, tools, and equipment inventory.
  • Support continuous improvement across departments.
  • Be flexible with work hours; operate 24/7 including holidays.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), including people movers and forklifts; may require WSI certification.
  • Assess and resolve maintenance issues on-site, including material handling systems, robotics, personalization equipment, electrical controls, lighting, racks, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist other maintenance technicians.
  • Perform battery changes and battery preventive maintenance.
  • Understand how equipment and systems work and identify issues to keep them running efficiently.
  • Maintain attention to detail and prioritize tasks aligned with company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance supporting material handling systems and/or facilities building maintenance or related technical background.
  • This is an onsite role.
  • Flexibility with work hours and days (24/7 operation, including holidays).
  • Ability to drive (PIT) powered industrial trucks including forklifts.
  • Will be required to take and pass WSI certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at heights and in unusual positions.
  • Safely operate all hand tools.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, pallet-jacks, and handcarts.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and moving equipment; work in uncomfortable positions.
  • Dexterity in hand-eye coordination, foot pedals, and wrist movements; repetitive motions.
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibrations, standing on concrete, and wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally repetitive motion; typically moderate noise level.
  • Comfortable with walking and standing for extended periods.
