Job summary

Williams‑Sonoma, Inc. operates a distribution center in Olive Branch, MS, seeking a Conveyor Technician III to maintain and repair automation and MHE within a fast-paced environment. You will work on 24/7 shifts, handle electrical and mechanical tasks, and implement improvements across the facility.

The role requires a high school diploma and 10+ years with material handling systems, PIT operation, and WSI certification. Join a team focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience supporting material handling systems and/or facilities building maintenance, or related trade/technical school equivalency.
  • Onsite and in‑office role.
  • Flexibility with work hours and days (24/7 operation, including holidays).
  • Ability to drive powered industrial trucks (PIT) including people movers and forklifts.
  • Required to take and pass WSI certification.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and improve automation and material handling equipment.
  • Use a CMMS (work order) system.
  • Effectively communicate verbally, written, and via e‑mail.
  • Use strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be safety‑minded.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot, and understand resources to accomplish tasks.
  • Gather needed materials to complete repairs/work orders.
  • Accurately track and store the department’s inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement within all departments.
  • Be flexible with work hours and days (24/7 operation, including holidays).
  • Drive powered industrial trucks – people movers and forklifts (PID/PIT).
  • Take and pass WSI certification.
  • Assess and resolve a wide array of maintenance issues on‑site, including material handling systems, robotics systems, personalization equipment and systems, electrical knowledge including controls, lighting, rack and guard railing maintenance, plumbing, welding, carpentry, pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks using tools and equipment.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians in repairing and maintaining facilities and systems.
  • Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries.
  • Understand how equipment, machines, and systems work and how to keep them running efficiently.
  • Have a keen eye and attention to detail to identify small issues within large systems.
  • Be organized and prioritize tasks in alignment with company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work at heights and in unusual positions
  • Ability to safely operate all hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, pallet-jacks, and hand-carts
  • Must tolerate exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and work around moving equipment, often in uncomfortable positions
  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, manual picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
  • Occasional exposure to repetitive motion; moderate noise level
  • Comfortable walking/standing 100% of the day
