Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is hiring a Conveyor Technician III for our Tracy, CA facility. The role covers maintenance of automation, material handling systems, and building infrastructure within a 24/7 operation.

Onsite duties include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory control, withCertification in PIT operations expected. The ideal candidate has a strong background in MHE and electrical knowledge, plus the ability to prioritize tasks and work safely in a fast-paced distribution

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 10 years of maintenance experience with Material Handling Systems.
  • Onsite role in Tracy, CA with flexible hours and holidays.
  • Ability to drive Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and pass certification.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and improve automation, MHE, building and infrastructure.
  • Use a CMMS (work order) system to manage tasks.
  • Communicate effectively via verbal, written, and e-mail.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist team members.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.

The Conveyor Technician III position is responsible for ensuring that all facets of building maintenance are taken care of by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all facets of the (MHE) Material Handling Equipment system and Facilities Building Maintenance.

Conveyor Technician III position is located in Tracy, CA.

  • Be flexible with work hours and days. (24 hour by 7 days a week operation, including holidays)
  • Be able to drive (PID) Powered Industrial Trucks inclusive of people movers and forklifts.
    • Be required to take WSI certification and pass
  • Assess and resolve a wide array of maintenance issues on-site
    • Material Handling systems
    • Robotics systems
    • Personalization equipment and systems
    • Electrical knowledge including controls
    • Lighting both interior and exterior
    • Maintain all rack and guard railing
    • Plumbing

  • Perform preventative maintenance task using tools and equipment
  • Assist other Maintenance Technicians repairing and maintaining facilities and systems
  • Perform battery changes, and preventive maintenance on batteries
  • Understand of how equipment, machines, and systems work and the ways to keep them running efficiently
  • Have a keen eye and attention to detail to identify small issues within the large system
  • Have the skills to be organized and prioritize the tasks in alignment with company goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work at heights and unusual positions
  • Able to safely operate all hand tools
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, pallet-jacks, and handcarts
  • Must be able to tolerate an environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and work around moving equipment – often while working in uncomfortable positions
  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
  • occasionally exposed to work that requires repetitive motion. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Comfortable with walking/standing 100% of the day
