Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI is seeking an engineer to conduct in-depth feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and improved conveyor solutions on the assembly line, ensuring safety, efficiency and lean principles.

You will design conveyance systems in AutoCAD, collaborate with manufacturing, product engineers, and suppliers to define specs and integrate systems, while improving throughput, ergonomics and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in Manufacturing.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• AutoCAD and Teamcenter proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design efficient conveyance systems and layouts in AutoCAD.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses of proposed designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical specs and integrate conveyors.
• Optimize layouts to improve throughput, ergonomics, and costs.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal specs.
• Provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycle from concept to install.
