Ultimation Industries in Roseville, MI is seeking an Application Engineer for Overhead and Chain Conveyor Systems. You will translate complex customer requirements into technically sound, cost-effective conveyor solutions and work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities include developing conceptual designs, creating AutoCAD layouts, performing calculations, preparing proposals, and ensuring technical compliance during the proposal process.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years of conveyor, material handling, or industrial automation engineering experience.
• AutoCAD proficiency for layout and concept development.
• Ability to develop layouts, BOMs, cost estimates, and technical scope documentation.
• Strong analytical skills for mechanical calculations and throughput analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs for power and free conveyors, enclosed track conveyors, monorail systems, inverted conveyors, skid conveyors, and automotive assembly conveyors.
• Review customer specifications, plant layouts, process requirements, and constraints to define the right conveyor solution.
• Conduct site assessments and data collection as needed.
• Create AutoCAD layouts and technical specifications, and prepare budgetary proposals.
• Perform chain pull calculations and throughput studies to optimize routing.
• Support component sizing and feasibility reviews with vendors.
