Job summary

HDR invites talented engineering students to join as a Conveyance Intern, part-time and temporary, to work on water distribution and wastewater systems. You will gain real-world experience under supervision of a senior Engineer, applying GIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling tools to support planning, modeling, and design efforts.

Preferred is 3+ years toward a degree with a 3.0+ GPA; familiarity with MS Office; strong problem-solving and communication skills; local candidates favored.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program and pursuing a degree in a related field.
• 3.0+ GPA preferred; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering techniques for modeling and design of water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Assist in planning, modeling and design under supervision of a senior Engineer.
• Evaluate utilities to determine improvements and grant opportunities.
• Connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring programs.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of aConveyance Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and proceduresfor the modeling and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer to assistfor the planning, modeling and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Evaluate utilities to determine improvements to processes, grant opportunities, and their system operations.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs.
• Perform other duties as needed. .

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 3+ years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry. This would include GIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling platforms.
• Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
