Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Omaha, NE, is seeking a Conveyance Intern to gain hands-on experience on water distribution and wastewater projects.

You will work under the guidance of a senior Engineer to assist planning, modeling and design for conveyance systems, gaining exposure to utilities improvements and grant opportunities. Preferred candidates are engineering students with strong attention to detail, good communication, and basic Office skills; local applicants are preferred for a part-time, temporary

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on projects by applying standard engineering techniques for water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Assist planning, modeling and design under supervision of a senior-level Engineer.
• Evaluate utilities for improvements, grant opportunities and system operations.
• Engage with mentors and young professionals programs within HDR.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of a Conveyance Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures for the modeling and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer to assist for the planning, modeling and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Evaluate utilities to determine improvements to processes, grant opportunities, and their system operations.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs.
• Perform other duties as needed. .

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 3+ years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry. This would include GIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling platforms.
• Preference given to local candidates
