Job summary

Carolina-Container, a division of New Indy, is seeking a dependable Transfer Car Operator to safely operate and care for the transfer car on the production floor in Hickory, NC. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate paperwork, and timely delivery of stock to machines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience, and familiarity with factory masters, measurements, and production schedules. Prior corrugated industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and care for transfer car safely.
• Complete transfer car inspections before each shift.

• Follow production schedules and optimize workflow.
• Complete reports accurately and on time.
• Adhere to safety policies and housekeeping.

SUMMARYResponsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the transfer car.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperation and care of transfer car in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate thetransfer car.Complete and document a transfer car inspection form before start of shift and turn inmaintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity andspeed.Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule tomeet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining goodhousekeeping.Additional duties may be assigned by management.LANGUAGE SKILLSAble to read and follow instructions on factory masters.112MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
