Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Converting Supervisor to oversee safe and efficient operations at our Corrugated Container facility. You will lead and coach a shift team, monitor KPIs, and ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and a drive for continuous improvement across functions. Responsibilities include safety briefings, workforce planning, daily management, and collaboration with maintenance

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred (Business Management, Engineering or Operations Management).
• 3+ years of converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility required.
• Experience in Lean environments; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
• Ability to embrace continuous improvement.
• Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions.
• Ability to coach and train employees and work across functions.
• Ability to troubleshoot process and maintenance issues on shift.
• Self-directed, able to make independent decisions and work across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Execute safety briefs to team on designated shift.
• Monitor safety environment and address unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and plant policies.
• Track daily production goals for converting machines using KPIs.
• Manage workforce planning, schedules, and attendance policies.
• Communicate effectively with all plant functions to meet production needs.
• Promote interdepartmental collaboration and positive employee relations.
• Supervise daily production activities and monitor team performance.
• Participate in Daily Management Systems to track progress toward goals.
