Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Production Manager for the Converting department in Sioux City, IA. You will supervise day-to-day operations, drive safety, coaching, and performance management to ensure reliable manufacturing processes and on-time deliveries.

You will lead improvement efforts, coordinate resources, and collaborate with customers to meet specifications, while managing costs and quality across the facility. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in corrugated and converting packaging operations.
• Demonstrated mechanical acumen.
• Experience with scheduling software.
• Lean / Six Sigma knowledge.
• Excellent communication across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership coordinating plant activities to meet manufacturing objectives.
• Review customer requirements and opportunities to implement improvements.
• Coordinate safety plans to ensure program adoption and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost control and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain effective communication across stakeholder groups.
• Manage P&L and operating costs to improve plant profitability.
• Monitor waste and environmental impacts and drive reduction.
