Job summary

Miami HEAT is seeking a versatile Event Staff crew member to support arena operations before, during, and after events. Responsibilities include setting up seating, furniture, signage, and converting the arena between basketball and large-scale events, while maintaining safety and organization.

You will work nights, weekends, and holidays, lifting up to 100 pounds, and operate warehouse equipment as needed. Competitive pay, overtime, free parking, and store discounts accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience preferred.

• Ability to read and understand a tape measure and differentiate imperial/metric fasteners.

Responsibilities

• Convert arena from basketball to concerts/events.
• Set up seating and supporting furniture for events and meetings.
• Install, repair, and remove arena equipment and seating.
• Move furniture, boxes, and equipment per management requests.
• Set up barricades, tables, chairs, risers, and stages at arena and offsite locations.
• Address set-up issues promptly as directed by staff.

Job description

Conversion crew performs a variety of behind-the-scenes functions for the building like maintaining, moving, and storing staging equipment and setting tables, chairs, pipes & drapes as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

• Conversion from basketball to large-scale concert/event.
• Set up seating arrangements and supporting furniture for concerts, basketball games, meetings, dinners, parties, and banquets.
• Set up signage, banners, and other conversion responsibilities from one event or game to another.
• Installation, repair, and removal of arena equipment and seating.
• Respond to requests from management, vendors, guests, event, and team representatives to move furniture, boxes, and equipment.
• Set up and break down barricades, tables, chairs, risers, and stages. Both at the arena and at offsite locations.
• Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
• Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing equipment properly, cleaning and repairing broken or damaged items, and alerting management of any mistreatment of company property.
• May be required to operate industrial vehicles such as carts, forklifts, scissor lifts, and floor scrubbers.
• Follow all operating policies and procedures.
• Maintain company confidentiality.
• Always maintain a professional appearance.
