Job description

Founded in 1963, Townley Engineering & Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, American-made solutions expert for wear and abrasion problems found in the mining, dredging, and power industries.

We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Has a willingness to learn and improve.Essential Job Functions:

  1. Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  2. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  3. Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  4. Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  5. Test operation of machines periodically
  6. Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  7. Using machine equipment to complete tasks
  8. Perform routine inspections of manufacturing equipment
  9. Evaluating the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed
  10. Shear materials for jobs as needed
  11. Inspect drills for defects and ensure proper sizing
  12. Run CNC machinery efficiently
  13. Maintain cleanliness of the work area
  14. Collaborate effectively within a team setting
  15. Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies, and operational protocols

  1. Ability to read tape measures and calipers
  2. Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
  3. Adherence to health and safety regulations
  4. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  5. Analytical skills and attention to detail
  6. Experience with CNC machines, drillers, and routers
  7. Familiarity with production manufacturing environments
  8. Capable of assembling and preparing panels
  9. Basic computer input skills
  10. Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies
Required Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products. Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and climb for long periods of time.Work Environment: Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt, and sand.
