Job summary

Rutherford County Government is seeking a Convenience Center Attendant in Murfreesboro, TN. The role pays $17.96–$19.27 per hour and prefers bilingual candidates. You will help keep the center safe, orderly, and accessible for residents while supporting Reliable Solid Waste service at a sustainable pace.

Key duties include assisting the public with drop-off, guiding correct recycling, operating waste compactors, monitoring fills, and maintaining a clean, safe site.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical work (lift up to 50 lbs; standing, stooping).
• Strong customer service and communication skills demonstrated.
• Basic site maintenance/cleaning skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the public with refuse drop-off at the Convenience Center.
• Guide proper separation of disposable, non-disposable, and recycling materials.
• Operate waste compactors and related site equipment.
• Monitor container fill levels and site cleanliness.
• Keep compactor areas and the facility clean and maintained.
