Job summary

Gables Search Group is seeking a Controls Technician for a major manufacturer in the southwest suburban Atlanta area. The role operates on a day shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, focusing on building and programming PLC panels and integrating automated controls on production lines.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot PLC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, and robotic controllers, perform preventative maintenance, and assist engineers and the production team to

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Build PLC panels and then program them, and get them up and running.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems using computer and diagnose electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic issues.
  • Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
  • Operate and maintain automated equipment, and coordinate with engineers and production teams.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and upgrade/repair controls and tools as needed.

Major and established company with a huge majority market share in what they manufacture and a good working culture has an opportunity on the day shift which is 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday thru Friday for a

  • Pneumatics: Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
  • Hydraulic: Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits containing the following components, check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, directional control valves, pressure control valves.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems using computer.
  • Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, and robot controllers.
  • Use knowledge of all fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Operating the equipment or overseeing the operation of equipment.
  • Analyzing and categorizing events within the equipment.
  • Working closely with engineers and production team to help achieve a desired output.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance, such as routine upgrades and inspections.
  • Repairing machine controls, systems, and tools as needed.
  • Disassembling (or re-assembling) equipment to repair or replace defective parts.
  • Training others to install, use, and service equipment.

The Controls Technician will participate in cell design, along with the integration of controls and installation of automated equipment. Will build PLC panels and then program them as well as get them up and running. The technician is responsible for assisting in configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting controls, as well as other automated systems used in production. Some of the responsibilities of the role detailed below:

  • Pneumatics: Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.

The location is southwest suburban Atlanta, GA. There is an attractive hourly rate. OT is paid at time and 1/2. There are major company benefits and an attractive 401K with matching.
