Job summary

Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC in the southwest suburban Atlanta area seeks a skilled Controls Technician for the day shift (7:00am–3:30pm, Mon–Fri). You’ll design cells, integrate controls, and install automated equipment, building PLC panels and programming them to run.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining controls, assisting engineers and production, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of related experience in controls or automation.
• PLC programming with ability to infer from PLC code context.
• Ability to program a machine process from scratch.
• Wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings.
• Identify data from motor data plates for specing components like contactors, soft starters, VFDs.
• Familiar with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, dry contact.
• Analog control signals: 4-20mA and 0-10V.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting.
• Panel building.
• Electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience.
• Safety circuit integration.
• Authorized to work indefinitely in USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install and design control panels and programs for automated equipment.
• Configure, test, operate, maintain, service, and troubleshoot controls and automated systems.
• Install air logic controls from prints or schematics (pneumatics).
• Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and PLC systems.
• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist production toward targets.
