Position Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining control systems for equipment and updating documentation revisions to ensure the environment operates meeting all business targets. The role supports and ensures efficient operations on automation, installation and launch, drives, new equipment installation, and revising existing equipment to include all related documents and schematics.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and modify existing control systems including robotic programs, ladder logic, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interfaces, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, distribution, and control systems.
- Conduct all work following safety policies and safe work practices.
- Maintain machine controls including robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and vision systems.
- Perform routine maintenance of all equipment.
- Support engineering and maintenance on control modifications and related systems.
- Keep current all electrical, pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, interface, robot programs, machine power distribution, and vendor controls documentation.
- Complete backups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs on schedule.
- Maintain data collection systems from shop floor processing equipment.
- Maintain plant floor machine control Ethernet gateways, links, and connections.
- Maintain all sub-machine control data highways.
- Update controls portion of machine standards.
- Coordinate with systems personnel on Ethernet machine drop routing and message traffic control.
- Complete correspondence, forms, and reports using applicable software.
- Handle confidential information regularly.
- Encourage 5S and housekeeping practices, leading by example.
- Promote positive communication and respect among co-workers.
- Participate proactively in Continual Improvement activities.
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Management System, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- University degree in a technical field or 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Ability to operate a forklift, man lift, and scissor lift.
- High flexibility and multi-tasking ability.
- Competent in reading and interpreting schematics and mechanical drawings.
