Job summary

Kronospan is seeking a Controls Technician to support electrical maintenance, installation, testing, and improvements of production and support equipment. You will help lead the electrical maintenance group to maximize production by minimizing downtime, working in a state-of-the-art, automated environment.

The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, PLCs, and visualization tools, with on-call duties and a history of effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to teach others.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs; knowledge of visualization tools.
• Wood panel processing experience preferred.
• On-call, 24/5 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical maintenance, installation, testing and improvements of production equipment.
• Lead electrical maintenance group to minimize downtime and maximize production.
• Support design and implementation of control system modifications.

Job Description

The purpose of the Controls Tech's position is to assist in all aspects of electrical maintenance, installation, testing, and improvements & modifications of production and support equipment. The position also assists in leading the electrical maintenance group to maximize production capabilities through minimizing downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or similar field of study OR equivalent experience
• Ability to teach others both in person and via tele-conference
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of competency in the use/understanding of Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs and communication protocols; knowledge of visualization (ex. Wonderware, PanelView, etc.)
• Preferred candidates have experience in wood panel processing.
• This is an on-call, 24/5 position.
