Job summary

Multimatic Indiana - New Haven in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a Controls Technician for 2nd shift to drive automation involving PLCs and robotics, and to help maintain manufacturing equipment and preventive maintenance programs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of automotive manufacturing experience with electrical training; experience with ABB, Motoman, Fanuc or Kuka robots and AB/Siemens PLCs is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years electrical training or journeyman experience; 3–5 years in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with ABB, Motoman, Fanuc or Kuka robots and PLC programming (AB RSLogix 500/Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, drives, communications, and robot paths.
• Use laptop and software to communicate with equipment and PLC/HMI/robot controllers.
• Make programming changes to PLCs and robots and support maintenance tasks.
• Assist in machine repair, setup, changeover, and daily operations.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and inventory of spare parts.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
