Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Decatur, IN is hiring a CNC-Controls-Robotics Technician for the 2nd shift. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting CNC equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and robotic cells to manufacture wood structures.

You will calibrate equipment, learn programming aspects via HMIs, train operators, and lead communication with supplier OEMs to minimize downtime. Strong experience with Allen-Bradley/Beckhoff PLCs and Fanuc robots is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechatronics, robotics, or CNC equipment or equivalent.
• 4+ years of manufacturing or relevant electrical experience.
• Familiarity with controls hardware components used in high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ANSI/RIA 15.06 and OSHA safety standards.
• Lock-out-tag-out procedures knowledge.
• Electrical standards NFPA 79, NEC, UL508A knowledge.
• Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience troubleshooting Fanuc robots.
• Experience troubleshooting fieldbus networks (Ethernet/IP/EtherCAT/Profinet).
• Knowledge of communications between machine PLCs and databases for data tracking.

Responsibilities

• Attend training classes to learn operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce wood parts and structures.
• Set up and operate robotic cells to produce wood components.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley or Beckhoff PLCs.
• Program and troubleshoot Fanuc robots.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Operate HMI screens and train operators.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve downtimes and order parts.
• Perform and record preventive maintenance using appropriate tools.
