The position offers 1st and 2nd shifts with a $80,000–$100,000 annual salary and a $2.88/hr 2nd shift differential. Expect 40–45 hours per week and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley controls in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in PLC modification and troubleshooting on Rockwell platforms.
• Familiarity with FANUC and ABB robotics integration.
• Ability to diagnose robot alarms, motion issues, and ladder logic.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and robotics on manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities

• Support new automation systems on high-volume shelving lines focusing on welding robots.
• Develop, modify, and optimize FANUC robot programs for welding applications.
• Perform robot teaching, touch-ups, and recovery as needed.
• Adjust programs rapidly to production changes and quality improvements.
• Troubleshoot robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence logic; modify PLCs/HMI/ robotics code.
• Guide maintenance staff and ensure safe, efficient production processes.
• Implement optimization for reliable production of quality products.

Controls Technician - Middlebury, IN (Direct Hire)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Controls Technician will oversee high volume automation manufacturing lines, with a focus on robotic welding systems. This role centers on modifying and troubleshooting FANUC robotic welding equipment, as well as supporting PLCs and HMIs on a newly expanded production line.

STARTING PAY RANGE:

• $80,000/yr. - $100,000/yr.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

• 1st Shift, Monday - Friday (6:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday

**2nd shift includes off-shift differential = $2.88/hr.**

**Expect 40 - 45 hrs/wk.**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support new automation systems for a high-volume shelving manufacturing line, with emphasis on robotic welding equipment.
• Develop, modify, and optimize FANUC robot programs for welding applications
• Perform robot teaching, touch-ups, and recovery
• Support rapid program adjustments to address production changes, process improvements, and quality issues.
• Troubleshoot robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence ladder logic
• Troubleshoot and modify PLCs, HMIs, and robotics, including modifications to existing code
• Assists and guides support personnel (Technicians, Maintenance, Tool and Die, etc.) in technical matters as needed.
• Develops, installs, and maintains optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner.
• Coordinates successful corrections to production problems using sound manufacturing engineering problem-solving techniques and practices

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley controls
• Proficiency in PLC modification and troubleshooting, particularly with Rockwell and Studio 5000 platforms.
• Troubleshooting experience with FANUC and ABB robotics
• Ability to diagnose and resolve robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence ladder logic problems in a production environment.
• Experience working with automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic cells in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency.
• Average to above average PC Skills

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Knowledge of machine programming systems.
• Experience troubleshooting HAAS CNC equipment
• Experience with Siemens or Mitsubishi PLCs/controls
• Hands-on experience with ABB or Yaskawa robotics
