Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Controls Technician for 1st shift in Rice Lake, WI. Schedule is Monday–Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime as needed during busy seasons.

The role involves basic PMs, troubleshooting, and applying fluid power concepts to production equipment. Expect a pay starting at $25 per hour with annual increases. Qualified candidates will have at least a 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant on-the-job experience, plus ability to read schematics and operate

Qualifications

• 2 years of on-the-job experience in a related field or a 2-year technical degree.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic PMs and mechanical tasks.
• Understand fluid power basics and apply to machines.
• Troubleshoot effectively using measurement tools to identify problems.
• Maintain documentation and create new documents as needed.
• Perform basic fabrication and maintenance with instruction.

Schedule:Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm| Overtime needs vary daily during the busy season.

The hourly range for this position begins at $25/hr with opportunity for pay increase on an annual basis.

What Success Looks Like:

• Basic mechanical and fabrication skills with the ability to complete basic PMs
• Understands fluid power basics and can integrate them into machines
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively and uses correct measurement tools to identify problems
• Has basic knowledge of industrial controls and wiring practices
• Has understanding of PLC, HMI, and variable speed drive programming and installation
• Is meticulous in maintaining existing documentation and developing new documents as needed
• Can perform basic fabrication and maintenance with instruction

Your Credentials:

• Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job experience in a related field or a 2-year technical degree
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment.
