Job description

Controls Technician: Panel Build & Field Service

Rielnix Control Systems builds and commissions industrial control panels and automated systems for manufacturers across Ohio and the Midwest: robotic weld cells, machine controls, safety systems. Veteran-owned shop in Plain City.

1099, $35-45/hr DOE, net 30.

We're small, and that shapes the job. You won't get handed one slice of a machine. You'll build a panel one week, check out its I/O the next, and be standing next to it at a customer's plant when it runs for the first time.

The work
  • Build control panels to print: layout, DIN rail, wire duct, terminations, labeling, point-to-point wiring
  • Continuity and I/O checkout against the controller program
  • Field wiring and terminations: motors, drives, sensors, safety devices, conduit and tray
  • Test and troubleshoot safety circuits: E-stops, light curtains, area scanners, safety relays
  • Troubleshoot live systems with a meter and a laptop
  • HMI screen edits, plus startup, runoff, and customer training on-site
  • Redlines and as-builts at turnover
What you need
  • 3+ years in industrial controls, panel build, equipment maintenance, or industrial electrical work
  • You can read an electrical print and wire from it without hand-holding
  • Comfortable troubleshooting with a multimeter in an energized panel, and you know when not to
  • Enough PLC and HMI exposure to go online, follow logic, and force a point safely
  • Your own hand tools, meter, and PPE
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation. Shop work in Plain City plus customer sites in Ohio and nearby states, about 25% travel
  • W-9 and general liability insurance
Helps, but not required
  • Robot experience on any platform: teaching, touch-up, frames, cell I/O
  • Safety systems: GuardLogix, safety-rated devices, guarding and zone layout
  • VFD setup and motor troubleshooting
  • Electrical license, or an electrical/mechatronics degree or certificate. Hands-on experience counts the same here
  • Prior military technical training. We're a veteran-owned shop and that background translates directly
Why this company?

You'll work directly with the owner on real customer systems and get in front of equipment most techs your experience level don't touch for another five years. Small shop, serious work, nobody between you and the decision.
