Job summary

Cerro Wire LLC. seeks an experienced maintenance technician to lead repair and improvement of plant equipment. You will diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical, and automation issues, plan maintenance activities, and perform system upgrades with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications include post-secondary training in industrial maintenance, strong PLC/drive experience, and ability to read schematics. A candidate with an associates degree and CAD skills will excel.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent industrial maintenance training.
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, circuits, hydraulics, power transmission and robotics.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Experience with CAD software for design and modification.

  • Plan and execute non-routine maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to root cause using systematic methods.
  • Design, fabricate and install mechanical/electronic equipment; implement changes.

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications
  • 2 Years of post-secondary schooling in an industrial maintenance related field, Associates Degree Preferred.
  • 3 Years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or 5-7 years in industrial maintenance as a Controls Technician (Programming & Installation electronics).
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, power transmission, and robotics.
  • Experience with all levels of Allen Bradley software Slice to RS Studio 5000, Siemens Software (Block logic), Read electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Experience with Cad software system for design.
Major Responsibility Areas and Duties
  • Responsible for responding to all unplanned downtime or breakdowns on machines.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities for non-routine problems or issues.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system problems for manufacturing and facility equipment both routine and complex using a method of troubleshooting to get to a root cause.
  • Design, fabricate and install mechanical and electronic equipment and perform program changes.
  • Be engaged in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and assist in the planning, coordination and performance of shutdown and major maintenance activities.
  • Complete all training as required and perform OJT to other employees as required.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform housekeeping of shop and areas where maintenance activities were performed.
  • Wire and repair electric motors, repair basic wiring according to NEC.
  • Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting problems with AC drive systems and PLCs. Should be able to access and interpret PLC logic via a laptop computer or other using the appropriate communication language.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant equipment, to include lubrication, repairs, and adjustments, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Advises operators and others of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with safety procedures.

Performs lockouts or tag o High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in machining or tool and die making is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Machinist or Tool and Die Technician, demonstrating expertise in machining operations and tool fabrication.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques, cutting tools, and tooling materials.
  • Experience with manual and CNC machine operation and programming.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work in a safety-conscious manner.

  • Additional duties as assigned, not determined at the time of hire.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

Must be willing to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Stand for long periods of time. Ability to work at heights on occasion. Ability to work in cold, heat, noise, dust, fumes, paint, chemicals, oils, etc. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
