Job summary

Capitol Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Controls Technician – Level I to assist in installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and service of Building Automation Systems (BAS).

You will pull low-voltage wiring, read wiring diagrams, and follow project timelines while working in construction sites and office spaces. The role requires an Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Building Automation is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to learn a skilled trade.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Physical requirements including lifting, climbing ladders, stooping.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the project supervisor, the Controls Technician will help with the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Job Responsibilities

• Low voltage wire pull installation and termination
• Reading and understanding of mechanical plans and wiring diagrams
• Possess strong organizational skills
• Work according to project timelines and processes
• Ability to work on your own or as part of the team
• Work in multiple environments from construction sites to tenant occupied office spaces

Desired Skills and Experience

• Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
• Experience in Building Automation is a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong desire to learn a skilled trade
• Ability to obtain security clearance
• Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
