Job summary

ATS is seeking a Controls Technician to join our Boise team, delivering building automation and energy management solutions. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and operate controls systems across campus facilities to optimize energy use and occupant comfort.

This role involves hands-on field work, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring accurate documentation. Local travel up to 50% and a commitment to safety are expected as part of a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certificate in an applied technologies field.
• Exposure to electronics and basic electrical circuits.
• Exposure to basic programming concepts.
• Practice working with mechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting basic and complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and operate building controls systems and related hardware/software.
• Develop in-depth understanding of HVAC-related controls and campus-level performance.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date (as-built drawings, check-out sheets, UL panel tags).
• Lead start-up and commissioning of building automation systems.
• Interface with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers on site.
• Modify and create project-specific controls programming as needed.
