Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead start up and commissioning of building automation systems.
  • Modify and create project-specific controls programming.
  • Update and maintain controls diagrams and drawing sets to reflect accurate on-site conditions.
  • Interface directly with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers, while working alongside other skilled team members.
  • Functionally test front ends to ensure they meet design intent and end-user needs.
  • Support owner training as part of project closeout.
  • Understand direct digital controls (DDC) and programmable logic controller (PLC) programming and make minor modifications to existing programs.
  • Maintain clear and updated field documentation, including as-built drawing sets, project check-out sheets, and panel tags.
  • Provide feedback on company-wide standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Controls Technician, you will become skilled at troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, and operating controls systems with their related hardware, software, and equipment. You will develop an in-depth understanding of HVAC-related controls and learn how to provide analysis of building control and mechanical system performance at a complete systems and campus level. Ensuring documentation is accurate and complete is a high priority for this position. You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Lead start up and commissioning of building automation systems.

Job details you should know
  • Base salary for this position ranges from $60,000 - $108,000 and is based on experience and tenure
  • This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical work days are Monday-Friday
  • Local travel required with infrequent out-of-state travel
  • This position requires consistent physical work at a project jobsite, spending most of your time on your feet. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Must be comfortable climbing a ladder regularly. Small repetitive motions and use of small tools are included.
