What you will do
Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
How you will do it
- Load system-level controller software.
- Perform basic verification and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required documentation.
- Keep management and contractors or customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate devices requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
- Communicate with contractors or customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training, prioritizing employee and subcontractor safety.
- Complete typical hardware installation and software programming using established standards. Provide detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers and staff.
- Coordinate jobsite hardware placement, ensuring installation complies with standards and project requirements.
- Manage and complete loading, device verification, and commissioning of system controllers. Validate system functionality and resolve issues to ensure proper operation. Provide accurate as-built and commissioning documentation.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to technicians, installers, and designers. Ensure tasks are completed accurately, on time, billed, within budget, and within scope.
- Communicate project status to management and provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.
- Develop project plans and coordinate resources for timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Perform site-specific training for owners/operators and ensure they are trained with proper documentation and manuals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, and consultants. Attend progress meetings as required.
- Coordinate with project engineers on bundled jobs to deliver cost-efficient solutions exceeding customer expectations.
- Adhere to all safety standards, prioritizing safety for all personnel involved.
What we look for

- Good communication and listening skills.
- University degree with 1 year experience, or 2-year degree with at least 6 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
