Job summary

TechniPower, Inc. is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer in Winder, GA to lead industrial controls projects from scope through startup. You will program PLCs, develop SCADA/HMI, and build control panels, with hands-on field troubleshooting at municipal water and wastewater facilities.

The role is direct hire and onsite, with 60% travel throughout Northeast Georgia (2-3 days per week) and occasional on-call support for emergencies. A strong background in Allen-Bradley PLCs and SCADA is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience in industrial controls, SCADA, or automation.
• Experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs from scratch.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA such as VT Scada, Wonderware/AVEVA, FactoryTalk View, Ignition.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics and P&IDs; AutoCAD Electrical a plus.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation (level, flow, pressure, 4-20 mA, discrete I/O).
• Willingness to travel 60% within NE Georgia.

Job description

We have a client in Winder, GA that has an opportunity for a Controls Systems Engineer. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in discussing this role,

You will take industrial controls projects from scope through startup, focusing on PLC programming, SCADA/HMI development, control panels, commissioning, and field troubleshooting. You will work directly with municipal water and wastewater utilities, supporting treatment plants, pump stations, and remote sites. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with controls engineers and utility staff, troubleshoot issues in the field, and take ownership of projects from design through implementation.

This is a Direct Hire position required to be fully Onsite. 60% in-state travel throughout Northeast Georgia is required (2-3 days/week). Occasional on-call hours to support customer emergencies are needed; fully paid.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial controls, SCADA, or automation


• Experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs from scratch required


• Experience with HMI/SCADA applications such as VT Scada, Wonderware/AVEVA, FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or similar required


• Ability to read and create electrical schematics and P&IDs; experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus!


• Working knowledge of process instrumentation, including level, flow, pressure, analytical, 4-20 mA, and discrete I/O


• Ok with 60%-day travel throughout Northeast GA to client sites (potentially overnight 1 day/month)


• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)

Pluses:

• Municipal water/wastewater experience


• Experience with Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, VPNs, managed switches, or cellular communications


• Control panel design, fabrication, or UL 508A experience


• Degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering, engineering technology, instrumentation, or a related field
