Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Peoria, IL seeks an experienced engineer to develop Machine Control Software using Model Based development in Matlab and LabVIEW. You will translate vehicle functionality into robust software specifications and ensure design compliance across regions.

The role requires hands-on work with NI platforms (PXI, PCI, DAQ, VISA), CAN networks (SAE J1939), and integration with vehicle electronics and powertrain systems, with testing and documentation through

Qualifications

• Strong control systems design and development background.
• Knowledge of CAN and SAE J1939 standards for vehicle communications.
• Experience with off-highway or automotive vehicles.
• Multi-faceted knowledge of vehicle electronics, hydraulics, and powertrain systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop Machine Control Software using Model Based development in Matlab/LabVIEW.
• Translate vehicle functionality requests into functional software specifications.
• Ensure design compliance to regulations and standards across regions.
• Use NI platforms like PXI, PCI, DAQ, VISA for machine control development.
• Utilize CAN tools and proprietary programming tools; participate in validation/regression testing.
• Interrogate source code when needed; assist in planning, documentation, and project direction.

• Your primary responsibility will be to develop Machine Control Software using Model Based development in Matlab/ LabVIEW.
• Understand desired vehicle functionality and subsequently transform the requests into functional software specifications
• You will ensure design compliance to various regulations and standards across multiple regions and market
• Use NI Systems & hardware platforms like like PXI, PCI, DAQ, VISA for machine control development
• You will utilize Controller Area Network (CAN) tools, proprietary programming tools, test benches
• You will participate in validation/regression test of software
• You will interrogate source code when needed
• You will assist in planning & documentation and direction of relevant activities through all phases of innovation and development
• You will direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specification, and bills of material when necessary
