Job summary

Fortna is seeking a results-oriented Team Manager - Controls Support Engineering to lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for long-term support and optimization of installed warehouse automation systems.

You will develop a structured cross-training program across control platforms, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with software, mechanical, and site operations teams to improve system performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

5+ years in industrial automation with at least 2 years in a team leadership role.
Proven experience with multiple controls platforms and diagnostics.
Strong background in long-term technical support and troubleshooting.
Design and execution of structured training or capability development programs.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-uptime environments.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and manage a multi-skilled controls engineering team for post-commissioned systems.
Develop and maintain a measurable cross-training program across control platforms.
Track progress with KPIs, skills matrices, and milestones.
Prioritize and resolve live-system technical issues with minimal disruption.
Serve as escalation point for complex troubleshooting and incidents.
Collaborate with software, mechanical, and site operations teams to fix systemic issues.
Maintain documentation, knowledge bases, and SOPs.
Allocate resources and balance workload across shifting priorities.
Conduct regular performance reviews and career development plans.
Support continuous improvement of support processes and system reliability.
