The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in PLC programming (primarily Allen‑Bradley), electrical schematic design, systems integration, and both remote and on‑site troubleshooting. This position requires the ability to travel up to 50% for field commissioning, customer support, and equipment deployment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop complete control system architectures for platforms such as Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, and other major PLC/automation systems.
    • Define hardware, networking, and software specifications based on process requirements.
    • Design and develop detailed electrical control schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams as needed.
  • PLC & HMI Programming
    • Program, configure, and integrate PLC systems with a focus on Allen‑Bradley platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, Studio 5000).
    • Develop HMI/SCADA interfaces across various platforms (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or equivalents).
    • Create modular, well‑structured, and maintainable control logic.
  • System Commissioning & Deployment
    • Perform software testing, simulation, and validation activities.
    • Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
    • Manage software deployment, system bring‑up, loop checks, and performance verification.
    • Provide on‑site and remote troubleshooting to resolve control system issues efficiently.
  • Field Support & Travel
    • Travel to customer sites (up to 50%) for commissioning, diagnostics, upgrades, and technical support.
    • Provide responsive support during system start‑ups and operational transitions.
Knowledge, Education, Experience and/or Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience developing PLC‑based control systems, including architecture design and programming.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Allen‑Bradley systems; experience with Siemens or other platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electrical schematic design using SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
  • Hands‑on commissioning experience with industrial process equipment or automated systems.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, instrument datasheets, and system specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, both remote and onsite.
  • Industry experience (highly desired) in CO2 recovery, liquefaction, purification, or related carbon capture technologies; gas processing and conditioning systems; industrial gas systems; oil & gas processing equipment and facility automation.
Competencies
  • Strong communication
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Solid documentation and organizational skills
  • Time‑management skills
  • Collaborative mindset
