Job summary

Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking a skilled PLC Engineer – Semiconductor Chemical Systems to design, program, integrate, test, commission, and maintain automated control systems used within semiconductor chemical delivery and distribution systems.

This role involves working with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, valves, pumps, and related process-control components, collaborating with controls and electrical engineers, project managers, technicians, and field teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Automation/Controls Engineering or related field.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting industrial PLC systems.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA applications.
  • Understanding of industrial control systems, electrical controls, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting digital and analog signals, sensors, actuators, valves, motors, and related field devices.
  • Understanding of PLC I/O architecture, control logic, alarms, interlocks, and sequencing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, construction, maintenance, vendors, and field personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for semiconductor chemical delivery and distribution systems.
  • Support PLC-based automation for chemical cabinets, valve manifolds, pumps, valves, actuators, sensors, and related equipment.
  • Develop and modify HMI screens, alarms, interlocks, status displays, trends, and operator controls.
  • Support integration between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and facility monitoring systems.
  • Perform PLC and control-system commissioning, startup, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Review control philosophies, sequences of operation, cause-and-effect matrices, alarm requirements, and interlock logic.
  • Configure and troubleshoot digital and analog I/O, instrumentation, networks, and control devices.
  • Support FAT, SAT, system qualification, and turnover activities.
  • Troubleshoot PLC logic, communication failures, instrumentation issues, equipment faults, alarms, and control-system performance concerns.
  • Coordinate with field technicians during installation, wiring verification, startup, and commissioning.

Job Overview

Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented PLC Engineer – Semiconductor Chemical Systems to support the design, programming, integration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of automated control systems used within semiconductor chemical delivery and distribution systems.

This position will work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, sensors, valves, pumps, actuators, chemical delivery equipment, and related process-control components. The PLC Engineer will collaborate closely with controls engineers, electrical engineers, project managers, technicians, field teams, equipment vendors, subcontractors, and customers throughout system design, installation, startup, commissioning, and ongoing operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial automation and PLC programming, understands electrical and process-control systems, and is comfortable troubleshooting equipment and control-system issues in active semiconductor or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for semiconductor chemical delivery and distribution systems.
  • Support PLC-based automation for chemical cabinets, valve manifold boxes, pumps, valves, actuators, sensors, instrumentation, and related process equipment.
  • Develop and modify HMI screens, alarms, interlocks, status displays, trends, and operator controls.
  • Support integration between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, facility monitoring systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Perform PLC and control-system commissioning, startup, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Review control philosophies, sequences of operation, cause-and-effect matrices, alarm requirements, and interlock logic.
  • Configure and troubleshoot digital and analog I/O, instrumentation, communication networks, and control devices.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), system qualification, and turnover activities.
  • Troubleshoot PLC logic, communication failures, instrumentation issues, equipment faults, alarms, and control-system performance concerns.
  • Work with field technicians and electricians during equipment installation, wiring verification, I/O checkout, startup, and commissioning.
  • Review electrical drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Perform point-to-point and I/O verification between field devices and PLC control systems.
  • Support integration and communication using industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, BACnet, or similar protocols.
  • Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of variable frequency drives, motor controls, sensors, transmitters, valves, pumps, and other automated equipment.
  • Maintain PLC programs, HMI applications, control-system backups, revision histories, and technical documentation.
  • Document programming changes, troubleshooting activities, commissioning results, system configurations, and testing records.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, contractors, and customers regarding controls-related requirements and technical issues.
  • Support preventive maintenance, system upgrades, control modifications, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify potential control-system reliability, safety, or operational risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to field issues and provide technical support during system startup and production operations.
  • Follow company safety requirements and site-specific procedures when working around chemical and process equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting industrial PLC systems.
  • Experience working with HMI or SCADA applications.
  • Understanding of industrial control systems, electrical controls, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, control drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting digital and analog signals, sensors, transmitters, actuators, valves, motors, and related field devices.
  • Understanding of PLC I/O architecture, control logic, alarms, interlocks, and sequencing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, construction, maintenance, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to support field commissioning and troubleshooting activities as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing, chemical delivery systems, cleanrooms, process facilities, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs, including ControlLogix or CompactLogix platforms.
  • Experience with Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000.
  • Experience developing or supporting FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, or similar HMI/SCADA platforms.
  • Experience with chemical distribution systems, chemical delivery equipment, valve manifold boxes, process piping, or bulk chemical systems.
  • Experience with semiconductor facility systems and equipment startup or commissioning.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, level sensors, temperature sensors, leak detection systems, and control valves.
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC, BACnet, DeviceNet, Profibus, or other industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, relays, safety circuits, and control panels.
  • Experience conducting FAT, SAT, commissioning, I/O checkout, loop checks, and functional performance testing.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Bluebeam, or similar engineering and document-review software.
  • Familiarity with alarm management, control-system cybersecurity, system backups, and change-control procedures.
  • Bilingual English and Mandarin Chinese skills are a plus but are not required.

This role supports active semiconductor, industrial, construction, cleanroom, office, and field environments. The PLC Engineer may be required to participate in equipment startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, field walkdowns, and system testing activities.
