Job Responsibilities
- Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs for equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Observes equipment in operation to identify malfunctions.
- Inspects used parts to determine if replacement or upgrades are needed.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Maintains industrial machines.
- Services electrical equipment at WIKA, including machines and electrical cables in the building (lighting, etc.)
- Designs electrical equipment, components, and systems for industrial applications.
- Develops control applications and systems for new industrial uses.
- Installs and maintains electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoots PLC programs.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and drawings.
- Performs electrical troubleshooting and installation as needed.
- Complies with OSHA safety and health regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to lead short-term projects to completion with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
- Experience with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and amp probes.
- Understanding of European electrical schematics is a plus.
- Experience with Siemens Simatic S7 PLCs (200/300/1200 series) with HMI controls is a plus.
- Ability to write reports and communicate effectively before groups.
- Ability to understand and execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form, and to identify and solve complex problems.
- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience required; manufacturing experience in a lean environment is preferred.
- Ability to monitor performance and implement improvements or corrective actions.
