Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs for equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Observes equipment in operation to identify malfunctions.
  • Inspects used parts to determine if replacement or upgrades are needed.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Maintains industrial machines.
  • Services electrical equipment at WIKA, including machines and electrical cables in the building (lighting, etc.)
  • Designs electrical equipment, components, and systems for industrial applications.
  • Develops control applications and systems for new industrial uses.
  • Installs and maintains electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoots PLC programs.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and drawings.
  • Performs electrical troubleshooting and installation as needed.
  • Complies with OSHA safety and health regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to lead short-term projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and amp probes.
  • Understanding of European electrical schematics is a plus.
  • Experience with Siemens Simatic S7 PLCs (200/300/1200 series) with HMI controls is a plus.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively before groups.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form, and to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience required; manufacturing experience in a lean environment is preferred.
  • Ability to monitor performance and implement improvements or corrective actions.
