Toyota Automated Logistics invites applications for a Controls Engineering Intern position in Maryland Heights, MO. The role involves designing, programming, testing and commissioning under the guidance of the Controls Engineering Manager.

You will collaborate with engineers to develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical and to support project objectives. The internship requires strong troubleshooting, detail orientation, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics and electrical prints.
• Eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with controls engineers to understand design and coding requirements.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Support the team in achieving project objectives and milestones.
• Travel 50-75% for domestic travel (expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics).
• Maintain an organized and efficient work area; complete administrative tasks timely.

Job Description

Job Overview:

A Controls Engineering Intern is responsible for all phases of engineering for Toyota Automated Logistics. The duties include are designing, programming, testing and commissioning. The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager. Job Functions:

• Work closely with other controls engineers to understand the design and coding requirements.
• Work with engineers on how to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Must have great communication skills. This will be paramount in internal communication as well as discussions with other engineers and
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintain a consistently positive, enthusiastic attitude!
• Keep an open mind; be creative with concepts. Encourage entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among others.
• Anticipate problems and be able to proactively act rather than react.
• Maintain office area clean and organized.
• Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in a timely manner.
• Works well with engineering and manufacturing teams. Pitch’s in where needed.

Travel Requirements:

• 50-75% overnight domestic travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Required Qualification s and Preferred Skills:

• Currently pursuing Bachelor degree in a engineering discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• PLC experience with a class/course or previous internship
• Ability to read schematics/electrical prints
• Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Strong ability to interact with computers
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
