Job summary

G&R Controls is seeking a hands-on seasonal installer to support installation of temperature control and building automation systems. You will pull wire, terminate to devices, mount field panels, and assist with system start-up. Travel is required to construction sites, with some overnight stays; weekends at home when possible.

Tools and safety gear are provided. Applicants should read blueprints, have basic computer skills, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Currently or planning to attend trade school, in electrical or mechanical fields, or pursuing Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Must be able to read blue prints and wiring diagrams.
• Applicants will gain an understanding of HVAC systems and experience in wiring.
• Basic computer skills should include Microsoft Office products, internet and email navigation.
• Applicant must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and clean background.

Responsibilities

• Installation of temperature control and building automation systems, pulling wire and terminating to devices, mounting field panels and energy management components and assisting with system start-up.
• Scheduling will typically be 30-50 hours per week during the summer; some work may be available during school year.
• Work on construction jobsites with some overnight travel; travel time and expenses paid; employees are home on weekends.

G&R Controls is an Independent Field Office for Siemens Industry, Inc. Since 1977, we have sold, installed and serviced building automation and temperature control systems. We also offer mechanical service and factory certified start-up of commercial HVAC equipment. Our offices are located in Sioux Falls and Rapid City South Dakota, and Fargo and Bismarck North Dakota. This hands-on experience will help you understand how commercial HVAC systems operate. As a licensed electrical contractor in 6 states, we can also help advance candidates who are pursuing electrical licenses.

Education Requirements
