Job summary

G&R Controls is seeking a hands-on candidate for a part-time summer role in Fargo, ND. You’ll help install temperature control and building automation systems, assist with system startups, and support service staff on customer sites.

G&R Controls is an Independent Field Office for Siemens Industry, Inc. Since 1977, we have sold, installed and serviced building automation and temperature control systems. Education Requirements

• Currently or planning to attend trade school in HVAC or a mechanical field, or seeking a career in HVAC through experience and training.

Duties

• Installation of temperature control, building automation and security systems. This will involve pulling wire and terminating to devices, mounting field panels and energy management components and assisting with system start-up.
• Assist seasoned service staff with maintenance of customer systems.
• Assist warehouse staff with organization and pre-assembly of HVAC and control system components.
• Most work will be done on construction jobsites or occupied customer facilities. Some pre-assembly work will be done in our company warehouse.
• Scheduling will typically be 30-50 hours per week over the summer, with some intermittent work available during the school year.
• When overnight travel is required, company pays travel time and expenses. Employees are home on the weekends.

Skills

• Applicants will gain an understanding of how components of commercial HVAC systems connect and interact, and will gain experience in maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Basic computer skills should include Microsoft Office products, internet and email navigation.
• Applicant must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and clean background.

Physical Requirements

• Use hand tools.
• Able to bend, kneel and work overhead.
• Navigate up and down ladders.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

We offer competitive pay with potential to move to a full-time position. We provide all tools and safety equipment, and cover the cost of necessary licensing. We cover travel expenses, including per diems.
