Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Controls Integration Engineer to define and operate automated material handling systems. You will own site-specific controls software, assemble standard code, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, tested solutions for field deployment.

You will lead emulation, FAT/SAT activities, and site handoff, mentoring other engineers and coordinating with vendors to ensure minimal downtime and successful deployments across sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with networking fundamentals and hands-on with load balancers, switches, routers.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.
• Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT, or Modbus TCP.
• Experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Experience developing or testing application software for industrial automation systems using IEC 61131-3 platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own application deliverables for the assigned project from planning through handoff.
• Assemble and configure the site's controls application software from standard code libraries, adapting it where the project requires.
• Partner with design teams to resolve open functional questions and drive decisions to closure.
• Contribute to design reviews with partner teams, bringing the controls and system function perspective.
• Define test criteria for emulation, digital twin, and FAT in partnership with simulation and design teams.
• Lead emulation and digital twin testing, verifying system flow meets design intent.
• Participate in FAT and SAT as the system function expert.
• Build the site's commissioning test cases from the standard test case library with field team.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
