Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an HVAC/Controls technician responsible for starting and commissioning new systems, diagnosing environmental-control issues, and servicing equipment on diverse commercial projects. You will act as the direct customer contact and work closely with the team to meet on-site requirements.

Candidates should have 3–5 years HVAC/Controls experience, EPA certification preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Typically 3–5 years of HVAC/Controls experience.
  • Technical school or formal training preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Working with handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months; clean record.
  • DDC controls experience preferred; EPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Start and commission new systems on-site.
  • Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems.
  • Apply knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, and refrigeration theory.
  • Represent the company as the direct customer contact.
  • Service products and equipment on assigned projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand on-site installation and repair requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date on Trane products for installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair.
  • Enforce safety to the highest standards.
  • Maintain asset accountability and security for company assets.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for starting and commissioning new systems
  • Diagnosing and repair of environmental-control systems
  • Utilizing knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques in diverse commercial settings
  • Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact
  • Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs
  • Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
  • Enforces safety to the highest standards
  • Maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions
  • Displays team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
  • Technical School or formal training is preferred
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations
  • Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred
  • EPA preferred.
