Job summary

SRS Distribution is seeking a Controls Estimator to provide control systems support and accurate estimates for commercial projects. The role involves reviewing plans, selecting appropriate control components, and preparing engineered wiring diagrams and submittals.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, HVAC experience, and strong MS Office skills. Travel up to 30% is required, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field preferred.
• 3 years’ experience with Commercial HVAC is a plus.
• 3 years’ Customer Service experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Adobe.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine controls product to be estimated.
• Translate plans into a specific list of control components.
• Review and complete wiring diagrams and submittals.
• Estimate pricing and send quotes to customers or commercial department.
• Obtain external vendor pricing and competitive quotes.
• Coordinate with engineering services, Account Executives, and Territory Managers.
• Assist with training to expand product knowledge and customer experience.
• Facilitate pre-bid meetings and determine sales strategy.
• Answer calls and provide high level customer service.

Job Purpose

The purpose of theControls Estimatoris toprovidecontrolssupport and estimates for commercial projects quoted by the department.

Job Responsibilities

Review plans and specifications todeterminecontrols product to be estimated

Translate plans and specifications into a specific list of control components needed for a job by selectingappropriate controlsfor the equipment application

Review and completeaccurateandtimelyengineered wiring diagrams and submittals for projects

Estimate pricing for needed products and send quotes to customers or commercial department

Obtain external vendor pricing, special quotations from subcontractors asrequiredfor products whilemaintainingcompetitive pricing levels andmaximizinggross margins

Coordinate prior approval requests, quotes,plansand specs with engineering services department

Partner with Account Executives and Territory Managers on projects/jobs tomaintaincustomer satisfaction to ensure repeat business

Seekingout training opportunities to expand product knowledge and understand processes to enhance the customer’s experience

After submittal is approved,handlingsetting up the project andhanding itoff to the assigned project manager andparticipatingininitialmobilization meeting

Facilitate sales and pre-bid meetings todeterminesales strategy for projects estimated

Answer calls and provide customers witha high levelof customer service

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineeringor equivalent field of study, preferred

3years’ experiencewith Commercial HVAC experience, a plus

3years’Customer Service experience preferred

Proficient computer skills in MS Office,Exceland Adobe

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Possess a valid driver’s license

Possess a satisfactory driving record asdeterminedby Company Driver Policies

Travel Requirement

30%travel to branches and other operating companiesrequiringsome overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
