The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of controls experience, 2+ years of leadership, and strong PLC programming skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Controls Engineers.
• Manage controls engineering projects from planning through implementation.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resources.
• Direct the design, installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
• Integrate and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other automation technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical controls and system integration issues.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency.
• Partner with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to support plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards, and company procedures.

The successful candidate will provide leadership over controls engineering initiatives while driving automation performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Controls Engineers
• Manage controls engineering projects from planning through successful implementation
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and engineering resources
• Direct the design, installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial control systems
• Integrate and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other automation technologies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 2 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong PLC programming experience, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms
• Experience with SCADA, HMI, industrial automation, and system integration
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work onsite in Lancaster, Ohio

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or advanced engineering certifications
• Experience leading automation modernization or plant expansion projects
• Experience with robotics, industrial networking, or motion control systems
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience supporting capital equipment installations
• Strong cross-functional leadership experience working with operations, maintenance, and production teams
• Experience developing engineering standards, documentation, and best practices
