Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Renewables team in Cranberry Township, PA. You will lead the design, testing, and deployment of renewable power control applications for solar, storage, and wind facilities.

Collaborate with customers and internal teams, troubleshoot, support site commissioning, and contribute to project schedules, budgets, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years in controls engineering or related automation environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and maintenance of engineering plans, schedules, and technical documentation for renewable energy projects
• Design, simulate, test, and implement renewable power control applications for solar, battery energy storage, and wind generation assets
• Configure and troubleshoot electronic databases using industry-standard communication protocols and datalinks
• Serve as a primary technical contributor during customer Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
• Support site commissioning activities and provide remote technical support as needed
• Initiate requisitions for project purchases and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors
• Manage the design, testing, integration, and shipment of project hardware
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve engineering processes, tools, or standard solutions
• Manage time and priorities effectively to meet project schedules and commitments
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and technical expertise
• Monitor project financial performance and support cost and schedule control efforts
