Job summary

CAMACO LLC in Ohio seeks a detail-oriented Controls Engineer to design, develop, and maintain control systems for automated machinery, robotics, and production cells. You will select hardware and software, create system architectures, and optimize performance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include design, installation and commissioning of PLC/SCADA/HMI systems, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in control systems, automation, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs (SLC 500, CompactLogix, MicroLogix), SCADA, HMI, DCS.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, and control principles.
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP and control system networking.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems, including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and HMI.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting for control systems.
  • Maintain and support control systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams on projects.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
  • Lead automation projects to improve process efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance in all controls work.
