Job summary

Camaco LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Controls Engineer to design, develop, and maintain control systems for automated machinery, robotics, and production cells. The role includes hardware and software selection, system architecture creation, and performance optimization while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in control systems, automation, and instrumentation.
  • Expertise with Allen-Bradley PLCs (SLC 500, CompactLogix, MicroLogix), SCADA, HMI, and DCS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement control systems including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and HMI. Select hardware, sensors, actuators, and PLCs.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of control systems for production lines and robotics.
  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting to improve reliability and performance of control systems.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to integrate control systems into projects.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, manuals, and system specs; generate performance reports.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance (IEC, ISO, OSHA) and integrate safety features like E-STOPs and alarms.
