Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die Company in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a qualified Controls Engineer to design, program, and optimize electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems for new and retrofit equipment. You will work with PLC and HMI systems, Allen-Bradley and Fanuc robotics, and coordinate with leadership, customers, and vendors to ensure performance and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Prefer 4–5 years of Controls experience.
Experience with multiple robotics brands (Fanuc, Kawasaki, Motoman, ABB) in automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Complete design of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls systems for new and retrofit equipment to ensure installation and operations meet standards and customer requirements.
Understand, support, and program PLC, HMI, and network devices for new equipment installations.
Confer with leadership, customers, vendors to discuss engineering projects or products.
Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, or systems for manufacturing purposes.
Prepare specifications for purchases and support startup, debugging, and performance objectives.
Use PLC/HMI, Motion Control, and CAD software for engineering tasks.
Perform detailed calculations to establish standards or specifications.
Investigate customer complaints and recommend remedial measures.
Plan or implement research methodology applying electrical theory to projects.
Ensure safety regulations are followed and work areas remain clean and orderly.
Authority to stop production if unsafe parts or conditions appear.
Perform other duties as assigned, including weekend escalation and support.
