Job summary

dormakaba Americas in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Controls Engineer to optimize plant equipment controls and drive productivity. The role focuses on analyzing, designing, and implementing improvements across manufacturing systems and controls hardware and software.

The candidate will troubleshoot PLCs and HMI interactions, work with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Fanuc systems, and mentor colleagues in proper machine control usage.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in controls, engineering, electrical, and manufacturing preferred or an equivalent combination of work experience and/or technical certificates.
• Ability to read/write ladder logic.
• Ability to create PLC code from scratch and troubleshoot during installation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant equipment controls processes, design, and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues with hardware/software/programs and processes interacting with manufacturing equipment.
• Interact with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Fanuc controls systems.
• Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.
• Learn and train associates in the correct usage of machine controls for assigned functions.
