Job summary

HAHN Automation Group US seeks an experienced software/electrical design engineer to develop, install, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robot, and vision software per design standards and customer needs.

You will collaborate with Project Managers and Mechanical/Electrical Design teams to understand machine function, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior staff while providing technical guidance. Domestic and international travel is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in electrical or software design/engineering in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• Proficient in PLC, HMI, robot, motion control, LabVIEW, and machine vision software.
• Familiar with safety policies (LOTO, electrical, arc flash).

Responsibilities

• Develop, install, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robot, vision software per design standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and design teams to understand machine function and develop software solutions.
• Support Electrical Design Engineering in design reviews and provide programming guidance.
• Identify and provide reliable solutions to ensure customer satisfaction at all stages.
• Provide customers with technical support and assist with software validation and testing.
• Assist with software validation protocols to ensure safety and performance requirements.
• Share design methodologies and tools with staff to increase knowledge across the department.
• Mentor less experienced staff in software design concepts for projects.
• Travel required, including overnight travel domestically and internationally.
