Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Controls Engineer in Tullahoma, TN to support projects from feasibility studies to turnkey systems. You will develop electrical specs, design control systems, and program PLC/HMI solutions for automotive, motorsports, defense, nuclear, and aerospace markets.

This role requires effective communication and on-site collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning, configure PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and conduct PID and

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Minimum 1 year of controls or electrical engineering experience.
Experience writing PLC code using Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or other PLC platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical specifications for equipment and components.
Define and document control system architectures for complex facilities.
Program, configure, and test PLC-based systems (Rockwell/AB).
Design and implement HMI applications using FactoryTalk or similar.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control with mechanical and data acquisition systems.
Prepare technical documentation such as data sheets, I/O lists, and control narratives.
