6 Degrees Search seeks a Controls Engineer to design and implement machine control systems for a World Class Manufacturer near the Oneida, NY area. The role requires hands-on work with AutoCAD, PLCs, HMIs, and Siemens/Allen-Bradley controls, with travel to local facilities about 30% of the time.

Ideal candidates hold an AAS or BS in Engineering with 5+ years of experience and must be eligible to work in the US without restriction. Salary is 100-130K with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• AAS or BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standard.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in US without restriction indefinitely.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with Siemens controls support.
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (approximately 30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including equipment diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time machine issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements.
