Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC seeks a highly capable Controls Engineer to own the full lifecycle of control systems for smaller equipment, from mounting to commissioning. You will troubleshoot on the production floor, drive uptime, and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams, applying safety standards and repeatable design practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 4+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Structured Text and Ladder; working knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages.
• Experience with control-related safety systems and NFPA79/NEC/UL508A standards.
• Hands-on fabrication or assembly skills and familiarity with manufacturing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete lifecycle for smaller equipment components from mounting to commissioning.
• Troubleshoot production floor faults, restore uptime, perform root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical leadership and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to system architectures and electrical schematics per standards.
• Write and debug PLC structured text with maintainable, reusable code.
• Support policy/tool development and data-driven process characterization.
