Job summary

Abbott is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support the Columbus plant. You will maintain plant equipment, provide electrical, controls system, software and instrument support, and troubleshoot line control issues on shift with the maintenance team.

You will implement hardware upgrades, lead small projects, train plant personnel, and ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA and company standards while collaborating with engineering, operations and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 1+ years of experience in controls engineering or related field.
• Experience with PLC/Servo programming, vision systems, process instrumentation, and electrical devices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment and fixed assets to safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide electrical, controls, software, and instrument support to operations.
• Perform small projects and troubleshoot line control issues on shift.
• Implement hardware upgrades and programming changes to improve quality and productivity.
• Provide technical training to plant personnel.
• Lead projects and guide maintenance teams.
